"...and you made the good parts real and the bad parts livable..." probably the most amazing thing that someone could say to the person they love, because in the end it's the hardest thing to do. I liked this book right from the start it's not a sweet happy story and if you've ever lived in a small rural community you know there is so much reality to it. It's small town life, often at it's ugliest, yet somewhere in all the ugliness there was a beauty that shone through.There were times when I just kept thinking 'shit could this possibly get any worse, could anything else happen to these young men to wreck their lives even more...and then it did.' but in the end Ms Lane took the story where it needed to go.
