It's a murky dismal kind of day, so...
I decided to cheer myself up and go book shopping, I love on-line stores here I sit in my comfy clothes browsing the internet for something to make me smile and what do I find well first I found this...
This may not seem like much to many of you but to me it's like finding a rare jewel. It's been roughly 5 years since Mr. Iles has offered up anything new. He's gone through some rough times during those 5 years including a near fatal car accident. So this novella says so much more than just a new Penn Cage story which for me is extremely exciting, because this is my book boyfriend. There is not another man alive...ummmm...errrr...in print who compares to him in my world. This also tells me that the amazing author who created him is back, is moving forward and will hopefully be offering us a whole new exciting world of stories from his wonderful imagination. So yes this put some sunshine in my murky dismal day, but I continued with my perusing of all things booklike and then I found this...
thanks to Lili over on GoodReads and I scooted over to Dreamspinner to pre-order my copy because...this is why this anthology came into being...
On September 1, 2011, TJ Klune wrote, "...it's not about the ending, it's about the journey..." in a review of Eric Arvin's Woke Up in a Strange Place. With those words, two men began a journey of love and invited us to ride along. TJ and Eric have shared so much with us: their wonderful books, their smiles, their humor, their lives, and their inspiring devotion to each other. In December of 2013, their journey took a detour when Eric was taken to the emergency room. He survived the surgery to remove a cavernous hemangioma from his brain stem, but the challenges TJ and Eric face are far from over.
The authors in this anthology donated their talent as a way to support Eric's continued recovery, to help bring strength to TJ, and to show both of them just how much love surrounds them. Grand Adventures is a diverse range of stories about the journey of love. We’re going on some grand adventures for a great cause. Thank you for joining us.
One hundred percent of the income from this volume goes directly to TJ and Eric.
and I could think of no better reason to spend a few dollars than to hopefully show my humble support for these two amazing men and this too made me smile because it is about love. The kind of love we all hope for, wish for and if we are lucky find. Eric and TJ have found that special love and at what is a difficult and challenging time for them, they are sharing with the world the beauty and strength of what they have. So buying this anthology for myself is my way of saying thank you to them and of reminding myself that no matter what happens, how ugly people sometimes can be towards one another, there is beauty, there is love and there is strength in this world that will always outshine the ugliness.
